When I was in my early twenties, I decided to pursue a better life and financial independence.
Of course, whenever we set goals in life, life tests us. And I was no exception.
These were the 2 most difficult choices I’ve ever had to make in life—and both directly impacted my goal of establishing a secure and prosperous future.
Hard Choice #1: Moving to the USA
Moving to the USA in my early twenties was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever made. Starting over in a new country without any help was really hard, especially because I had to learn a new language and get used to a different way of life. The hardest part was not seeing my family for nine years, missing out on many family events and support during tough times. Being away from home for so long made everything more difficult.
Hard Choice #2: Buying the First Rental Property
In my late twenties, I decided to buy what I thought was a good renovated rental property. However, this property quickly turned into a financial drain when it needed an unexpected $60,000 for repairs due to various hidden problems. Dealing with these issues strained my budget and tested my problem-solving abilities. It was a stressful and challenging time, however it taught me a lot about real estate and careful planning.
But here’s the thing:
Being forced to make these choices ultimately got me to where I am today—which is a secure and prosperous life.
